Let's Bee Social #33

Last week, I showed off some new Christmas fabric and mentioned my intentions to start on a Christmas tree skirt.  I did indeed work on a tree skirt, (no pictures yet) but had more than enough fabric with those half yard cuts, so I also used my Boxes-N-Bows design to make six cute Christmas place mats.

To add to the width of the Boxes-N-Bows blocks to make them wide enough for a place mat, I added to the blocks and then used my new Heat N Bond fusible web to do some fun applique.  It has been a long time since I did any applique!

I really liked the Heat N Bond webbing.  It was easy to work with... And fun!  Here is a close up of one of the red Boxes-N-Bows blocks.  Want to make your own?  Click here for the measurements!

The place mats and tree skirt are being made from these half yard cuts from last year's collection, Holiday Frost by Jan Shade Beach for Henry Glass Fabrics.  The 2 yards of Holiday Sparkle by Nina Seven for Wilmington Prints will be used for the backing and binding.  I love these prints!

I had some of these last year and used them to make the Holiday Sparkle throw quilt and a Modern Quilted Christmas Runner.

NOW.... What's new with you?
