But I have been in a Christmas mood lately!
This week I finished the tops for six festive place mats. Made from last year's collection, Holiday Frost by Jan Shade Beach for Henry Glass Fabrics. I used my new Heat N Bond fusible web to do some fun applique. It has been a long time since I did any applique! Each place mat measures approximately 12" x 18".
The plan is to use this Holiday Sparkle by Nina Seven for Wilmington Prints for the binding. Using a slightly darker grey background, this print features text in black, white, red and a hint of sparkle in gold, and blends in nicely with the Holiday Frost line.
Also finished this week.... My very first attempt at a Christmas tree skirt! Using a modified version of my Boxes-N-Bows design, this skirt is made from six equilateral triangle panels, making a hexagon shape, and measures approximately 56" from point to point and 48" from edge to edge.
I found a nice swirly grey wideback print at my local fabric shop which will be used for the backing on both projects. This is from the Essentials 108" Backing - Dotty Waves - collection for Wilmington Prints. The Holiday Sparkle will be used for the binding, to match the place mats above.
